There are various ways to own Crypto, one of my mind is getting hand one of these altcoins other than having a bitcoin. We could simply buy, or work for it and get paid with cryptocurrency, or claiming free small amounts from Cryptocurrency Faucets.
Crypto Mining is one of the other ways but involves other components such as Mining Hardware, Software, and extra electric consumption. In this post, I want to share what I simply done to mine crypto using the following steps.
Before anything else, I want to tell a little details about the basic components that I did to share how simply to mine.
Note: The tutorial overviews basic steps about Etherminer.org pool, how to use Phoenixminer Software, and Ethereum Classic Coins.

1. GPU Mining
A Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), also known as a video card or graphics card that purposedly designed for a variety of work aside from gaming. GPU is widely used for video editing, gaming, machine learning, and tasks that need a higher number of cores to boost their performance.
Most Crypto miner enthusiast are using GPU as their primary computing equipment, because it is cheaper than the ASIC, and the compatibility to any crypto to mine. Aside from that, GPU can be sold easily, it is one of the in-demand piece of hardware in computer parts.
2. Phoenix Mining Software
Phoenixminer is an open-source software for EThash algorithm miner. Known to be the best miner for ETH, and Ethereum Classic.
Basically, Mining Software works as a messenger between the GPU and the network. It is where your GPU receives the work, and it is where it sends the completed work to the network done by your GPU.
Phoenixminer is one known as the best mining software for Ethereum and Ethereum Classic. It was proven to give more hash rate, and with lesser developer fee.
Key points to help you decide what to mine
Know what to MineThere are hundreds of coins that you can mine, but choosing what to mine is not easy. It is better to choose what your primary wallet coins support, and figure out how to possibly mine it.
In my case, I decided to mine Ethereum Classic, and I plan to use Phoenixminer software, it is known to be performing better in Ethereum and Ethereum Classic.
Know your hardware
You should check first what's inside of your computer, before engaging to crypto mining. In my case, I had a Windows 10 Operating System, and a Graphics Card of NIVIDA 1060Ti. I can use it to mine Ethereum Classic with a Phoenixminer Software.
Know the Mining Pool
Mining Pool is a created public network where individual miners can join and share their processing power to create bigger power. Miners tend mostly to choose the mining pool over solo mining. Mining pools generally makes it easier to get an outcome in mining.
There are plenty mining pools you can join, In my case, but i prefer to join Etherminer.org, which I find conveniently and supports the coins I want to mine.
If you decided already by following the key points to consider to a simple start to mine crypto, let's proceed with how I simply do to start mine Ethereum by using Phoenix Miner.
Simple Steps to Crypto Mining (Ethereum Classic)
Step 1.
*Download Mining Software
I downloaded the Phonix Miner in this link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2647654.0
The link provides the general topic of the Phoenix Miner, you can also read their reviews about the software. You will also find the link to the Software Downloader.

Step 2.
After the download, extract the (compressed Folder)PhoenixMiner
Inside the Folder, Open the config.txt (Wordpad)
This is where you put your mining pool network and your wallet address.
-pool eu1-etc.ethermine.org:4444
-wal 0x0D8B7353a5Ea3953EaD68965f5c8eD5898F4e367
-proto 3
-cdm 1
-wal 0x0D8B7353a5Ea3953EaD68965f5c8eD5898F4e367
-proto 3
-cdm 1
If you are mining ETC, keep the (-pool) in the config.txt. and only replace the wallet shown in the image or the highlighted text above.
Untagged the other text on dpools.txt using a number sign (#) to disable the dual mining, or simply take out the dpool.txt out of the folder.
Step 3.
Open the Phoenix Miner Software, and you are already Mining! From time-to-time, you can check your shares and how many coins you are generating in mining by visiting your Mining Pool Webpage.
This is what looks like at my etc.etherminer.org
